Blueberry Path Ristorante -- All you can eat family style Italian restaurant.
Hidden away in Howell Township, this small family owned business has some really outstanding specialties.
The ambiance of the freshly renovated room was delightful.
Food is cooked only for 6 to 10 people at a time so it's fresh, not that frozen stuff.
Our waiter (Vincent) brought the food out quickly, and was very attentive, except he never asked us if we wanted refills for our drinks.
We met some really nice people sitting at the table next to us, and had a nice conversation with Angela, Joann, Lisa, Dan and Sherry.
For starters they brought out large portions of five different breads.
Their Chicken Franchaise was unbelievable and was prepared by master chefs Karen and Phyllis.
We were told that they have a cook that does nothing but make the gravy for the macaroni, eggplant, and meats etc.  Alyssa won't let anybody watch her as she prepares her own secret recipe for her award winning unbelievable tasty gravies.
They have an extensive choice of special Italian deserts and an extremely large selection of specially brewed coffee.  Each cup is brewed separately, one cup at a time, at the time of your order. You won't get coffee as fresh as this anywhere else.
The food is very reasonably priced, cooked just right, and extremely tasty.
They offer live entertainment every weekend.  We especially loved the Connie and Jimmy show.  It's a riot, with new material with each show.
We had a window seat near the rear of the building overlooking the spacious deck, beautiful shrubbery and meticulously manicured lawn. We can't wait to come back in the summer to eat outside in this lovely park like setting.
Reservations are highly recommended, as seating is limited.
Tell them that Dennis sent you, and you will get the reserved table next to Connie and Jimmy.
We have eaten here quite a few times, and can assure you that you will never be disappointed.

Cosi -- We went for desert at night and we were not impressed, as the deserts that should have been hot were just above room temperature. We also had the worst waiter possible, as he decided to substitute items in our order without asking us, because they ran out of whatever we asked for.  Their ice cream Sunday consisted of vanilla ice cream (only flavor available) with whip cream only, no toppings or syrup.

Garlic Rose Bistro -- New Jersey's First All Garlic Restaurant!  Believe it or not they use 2500 bulbs of garlic a week !!!  - This is a delightful restaurant with a great atmosphere, truly outstanding food with great presentation, and outstanding service thanks to Lucy.  Because this restaurant is small and cozy, you will have to make reservations at least two weeks ahead.  They have some wine but you can BYOB.

To Hackensack Ave. North exit.  Turn right at the 2nd light into Pathmark shopping center.
They also have another place in the Palisades Center Mall in West Nyack, New York.  845-353-5355 -- The service was a lot better than the NJ  location, but didn't have as nice a salad bar as the NJ location.  Look very closely at the pictures on the wall.  These pictures are imported from Brazil, and are made entirely from butterfly wings.  They also have a large display of real stuffed animals. -- Last visited on 10-01

Harold's New York Deli Restaurant  -- Noted for their super large portions.  My Corned Beef was super lean, and melted in my mouth.  Sandwiches consist of  9 or 19 oz. portions.  The cakes are at least one foot high, and the eclairs are at least one foot long by 4 inches in diameter.
They are located in numerous hotels.  Search Google.com for locations.
3050 Woodbridge Ave. (Near the entrance to Raritan Center), Edison, NJ - 732-661-9100
www.haroldsnewyorkdeli.com-- Last visited on 11-03

Houlihan's -- The food is good, but the service is mediocre.  The soups are barely warm 95% of the time and closer to room temperature.   The quiche is always room temperature.  The wait to get your order is always unbelievably slow, and that's when they are not even busy.
Fairfield, NJ - Last visited on 4-06

Huller's Black Forest -- Their specialty is German food.  Hullers is a Butcher shop and Restaurant, which explains why the quality of the food is so good.  All the meats served in the buffet were absolutely the greatest, no fat, or nerve and was the best tasting I ever had.  The waitresses were friendly and the service was great.   Their offer a buffet every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Reservations highly recommended. -- BYOB
An excerpt from their menu worth noting - Since 1968, Huller's has been know for making the finest homemade cold cuts, sausages and smoke meats, all made in the authentic German tradition.  Huller's Black Forest brand products never contain and MSG, artificial colors or fillers and are naturally hardwood smoked, and lower in sodium.  They only serve the finest mid-western corn fed beef, and age each cut a minimum of 3 weeks in their own humidity controlled coolers.

5-09  Joey's -- Joey's is a very nice cozy restaurant across from greenwood lake.  They offer a selection of foods that are different as well as some of the usual selections, exquisite, large portions, and  you guessed it great tasting.  The service is great, but it's a shame that they have to charge you $1.65 for a tiny glass of soda about 1/4th to 1/5th the size of anybody else, especially after adding ice.  Refill sodas are not free as in most other places.  BYOB

Take Route 23 North to Route 287 North.  Get off at exit 53.  Turn left at light.  Make a right turn onto Van Dam Ave.  Take it to the end, it goes right into their parking lot.  If you miss Van Dam Ave. Turn right at the traffic light which will be Union Ave.  Kopici will be on the left side.

Larisons -- The original Larison's Turkey Farm was one of our favorite visits right after thanksgiving when the stores start displaying their Christmas wares.  On our recent visit we noticed the lack of Christmas decorations in the lobby and in the dinning rooms.  The wooden Indians and famous second floor with the bears and other animals were regrettably absent, as was the cozy, charming and unique little Christmas store behind the restaurant.  We also miss seeing the animals that were roaming around in the back of their property.  The food was good and service was great.  The old historic part of Chester seems to be turning into regular everyday stores and has lost its charming appeal.
Chester, NJ

Maria's -- Home made ravioli and other pastas.  The jumbo hand made raviolis are the greatest ever.  Lots of cheese and very little pasta around the edges, melts in your mouth.  These are so big that 4 of them equal 1 dozen of any competitor's raviolis.
Across from Willowbrook Mall -- Wayne, NJ  - 973-256-9006 - Last visited on 4-09

6-09  Nutley Diner - Great food and great Caesar salad, fast service.
Nutley NJ
http://nutleydiner.com -- Last visited on 5-09

The Original Pancake House -- Their apple pancake and The Dutch Baby are two of the most colossal dishes that I have ever seen.  The chicken crepe (my favorite) was also awesome, it's to bad they decided to remove it from the menu. We were told that they only serve that particular dish during the week and not on the weekends. While I am still trying to figure what kind of sense that makes, it will cost them some customers, including the large group I usually go with.

Papa Johns -- Great tasting pizza, cooked just right, not greasy, you'll love it even more if you have a sensitive stomach.  -- Read the write up on their site.

Pilot House -- Exquisite food, exquisite ambience, exquisite view, exquisite service.  In a word exquisite.
Brick, NJ
www.pilothouserestaurant.com - Last visited on 2-04

5-09  Poor Henry's - This is probably the worst experience we have had in a very very long time. Six of our seven dinners were barley warm, french fries were cold, and one diner had an unidentifiable object in it.  Refill sodas are not free as in most other places.
Lauren our server, was extremely polite, attentive, asking if she could get us any thing else, asking if we wanted out drinks refilled, and was apologetic for the meals.  Although this was her second day working here, she provided us the best possible service, a lot better than most seasoned servers.

South Street Creamery Café
-- If your going to the Community Theatre make sure you stop at this wonderful family run desert café.  This is a lot more here than just ice cream.  The service was great, the decor is lovely, the owners are great and friendly, the ice cream is home made, and the espresso is great.  Don't forget to try their newly added section for lunches and private parties.

Spirit Of New Jersey -- Choose your cruise and let the Spirit move you! Whether it's a company event, a day of family fun or just the two of you, a Spirit Lunch or Dinner Cruise promises a whole new kind of entertainment. Great food, music and views of the Manhattan Skyline are just the beginning.   11-08   UNO -- This was a good place to eat.  Since they closed the McDonalds next door, it appears that they hired the people from there to make a feeble attempt at cooking, instead of throwing a frozen item on a pre timed conveyor belt. It seems that they still think they are cooking hamburgers, without regard for details like, is the dough even close to being cooked on the pizza, or that pizza comes with more than just tomato sauce.  After explaining to the server that Caesar salad has Caesar salad dressing in it, not 5 drops of what appeared to be oil of some kind, and Caesar salad come with lots of graded cheese, not 10 strands, he proceeded to tell me that it was on the bottom, Duh. I guess he never saw Caesar salad before, as the dressing is tossed with the salad, not 5 drops of oil on the bottom of plain salad.  Now that I think of it, I guess I expected to much from him, I don't think that McDonalds served Caser salad, which would explain why he was unaware of what a Caesar salad has in it or what it should look like.

With the recent openings of other food chains in the same west belt plaza, it seems that for some reason they want to maintain the same quality and status of the old McDonalds.

Versailles Dinerspan -- We asked for a medium to well hamburger and it came out raw, lemon with water and no lemon, Gyro came without the sauce, the food was freezing cold before we could eat half of it, do the weird placement of the air conditioning ducts.  They were blowing right on us to the point we couldn't stand it any more and had to get up and leave.  Route 46 East, Fairfield. NJ -- Last visited on 7-03

Vila D'Este Restaurant -- We had an absolutely fantastic party here, the room was elegant and tables was set beautifully, the food was perfect, the servers were very alert and responsive.  Our only one complaint is that when we asked where the left over food was, the server told me that we didn't ask for it, so they threw it away.  I guess the server has never been to any other parties, where it is customary to package, or at least ask if the customer wants the leftovers.  Duh !!!

======================================================================
1-30-05 -- Salerno Duane Infiniti Of Denville --  We were looking for an Infinity QX56 truck ($50,000 +).  We went to this dealership
because it is closest to us, two miles from where we live. The salesman proceeded to play the usual and irritating dog & pony show
.
That is where the salesman tells you he doesn't know, or gives you all the wrong answers to your questions about what the vehicle is
equipped with.  For example, he said the right front seat did not fold down. (WRONG answer)

He then insisted upon getting  our telephone number, name, address, home telephone number, work telephone number, email, etc.
 (WRONG)
Infiniti requires its sales people to take a test to show that they are well versed in what they are selling.  (We guess he flunked).
When we showed the salesman a business card with a price quote from the Lynne's Infinity dealership, he immediately developed a bad attitude.  (WRONG)
After explicitly telling the salesman that we would need a quote including 20,000 miles per year, he came back with a quote based
on 12,000 miles a year. We believe this was deliberate, in order to come in with a lower monthly price.   (WRONG)

We wasted two hours of our time just trying to get a  monthly payment!!!  (WRONG)
Then the salesman and the manager both refused
to give us an exact monthly payment. We didn't quite understand this stupidity.  (WRONG)
They don't have service hours on Saturday.  (WRONG answer)
They said we should go back to the Lynne's Infinity Dealership in Bloomfield, a 30 minute drive from our home.
(RIGHT)

Our cousin purchased their car at this dealership, and is also very unhappy with them.  They told her they have service loaners.
Yet after making an appointment for scheduled service and being promised a loaner.  Upon arrival there weren't any loaners available.
This is not a good thing to have happen, especially when you have four young children with you.   (WRONG answer)

Shame on You !!!

.............................................................
IN CONTRAST, THESE PEOPLE DO IT RIGHT!
Lynne' Infiniti Car Dealership -- 800-332-2842 -- Reginald Haynie --
(RIGHT)

After our first visit, we went home to decide which color and what options we wanted.  Our salesman, Reggie, was off
the next day, but he called us from his home to ask what color and options we wanted.  He located the truck we wanted,
finalized the order and arranged for us to pick it up the very next day.  Try to get in touch with a salesman on his day off anywhere else!!!

It's refreshing to get a great price, knowledgeable sales person (Reggie), the right answers, and No Bull !!!
(RIGHT)
They are open Saturday for service
(RIGHT answer)
We bought the truck with no hassle, and were treated with courtesy and professionalism !!! (RIGHT)

Thank you Reggie

9-16-00 -- Let's pick on the Handicapped
While driving by myself to the emergency entrance of Mountainside Hospital, the closest parking spot (including their lot) was at
least a block away.  There are "No Parking" signs on the street near the emergency entrance.

Since I was in excruciating pain, could not walk and had to use crutches, I looked for the closest spot to the emergency entrance.
I parked 10ft. in front of the sign that said no parking here to the corner. That meant there was still 40 ft. between the front of my car
and the stop sign.  I didn't see that as causing a problem for anybody.

Officer Tom Hannigan saw my car had handicapped license plates, the car wasn't causing any problem where it was parked,
it was near the emergency entrance of the hospital, and he just had to give me a parking ticket.  I'm sure his parents would be proud.
What ever happened to the phrase "To Protect and Serve?".  Somehow I don't think it means to protect that 50ft. of ground in front of
a stop sign and to serve tickets to the handicapped!!!  It must be wonderful that the township of Glen Ridge doesn't have any crime
whatsoever, and is paying officers to give out unnecessary parking tickets, when that officer could serve a more useful purpose like
reporting suspicious persons or catching people that are committing or have committed crimes.

I think it is obvious that this person doesn't have any compassion for the handicapped, and I am sure that if another car parked in the
same space and had a police shield in the window, it wouldn't have gotten a ticket !!!
Shame on You !!!
