Peer-to-Peer Networking

Custom-built Servers and Workstations

Custom-built Phazor Servers and Workstations from D A & D Services are the best way to insure compatibility with your network. By building the computers and installing the Network, we are able to ensure that your Network will run smoothly.

It is all too common for brand-name computers to have compatibility problems with various network cards, and operating system software, etc. In trying to distinguish their products from the rest, and/or in an effort to reduce costs, manufacturers will often (and usually unintentionally) create compatibility problems. In the long run, such incompatibility problems will cost you a great deal of money.

Because Phazor computers are built with top-quality industry standard components, parts are far more easy to obtain than for brand-name computers. That translates into fast repairs and lower cost repairs. Is a brand name computer really a great comfort when you have to wait for service and then wait again for nonstandard parts to arrive? What will your employees do for a week while waiting for Brand-Name's technicians to finally fix the server or workstation?

Finally, try calling one of those brand-name technical support lines on your lunch hour -- you'll probably have all the time you need to eat before you get to talk to a technician.

Network Protection -- The Safety Trio

One of the best ways to destroy most companies these days is to destroy their data. Your files face threats from many causes, and three items of protection are strongly recommended for any Network:

  • Backup: This is by far the most important protection you can have. By doing daily backups and storing those backups off-site, no matter what happens, you are unlikely to lose more than a day of work. We install our backup over the internet that not only protect your data, but also significantly reduce the time and money required to restore or replace your server, when compared to the solutions provided by most vendors. But losing even one day's worth of data can exceed the cost of both of the items that follow combined.
  • Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS): This protects your server from data-destroying power disturbances, as well as from power failures by providing battery backup. In the event of a prolonged power outage or brownout, your file server will be automatically and safely shut down. Note that a file that is in use on a workstation without a UPS could still be damaged during a power disturbance, even if that file is stored on the server. In any case, having a UPS on the server greatly reduces the threat, and limits the potential data loss and related expense.
  • Network Anti-virus Protection: Viruses that invade one workstation can be spread throughout your network, and even onto your tape backups. While the risk varies from company to company, no one is immune.

Competitive Prices

The cost of service is not a simple matter of an hourly rate. When people shop based on price, they often pick the service with the lowest hourly rate. The mistake is in thinking that the time needed to make the repair is the same no matter who does it. If Fictitious Computer Co. charges $85 dollars per hour and it takes them four hours (and maybe the problem still exists when they are done), is it cheaper than D A S Services at $110 per hour for two hours to really fix the problem?

Choices are not always easy, but D A S's current rate of only $130.00* per hour is, in and of itself, a very competitive rate. Most competent Network service providers charge more than $160.00 per hour. Additionally, we offer far more in the way of knowledge and ability than our competitors.

You might find someone for less money, but it is unlikely that you will find more competent, courteous, and reliable service anywhere else, at any price. We show up when are supposed to, and we do the job right.
